RC P-38 Lightning in inverted low pass maneuvers

Inverted Very Low Pass In A RC P-38 Lightning - Click here for the funniest movie of the week

DNS asshattery

It took me less than five minutes to get the full domain name setup to use with this blog. I thought nice, I'll get PJ's done too. Not so fast. I have no idea what I did wrong (except that it is a brand new Google Apps for Domains account) but DNS for the domain is extremely low.

Good service

Today I locked myself out of the management interface for one of my two hosting companies. After 10 minutes of struggling with it, I decided to suck up and open a trouble ticket. The ticket was solved and closed six minutes later. Just amazing. On a holiday weekend!

Test post #2

The first attempt was so-so. I renamed the document, but it did not change it in the blog. It did republish the document with the right contents and formatting, and without duplicating the post. I am trying to see what happens if I change the title before the first time that I publish the post. This is a picture:

The post is now edited, and the image is smaller. I still can't figure out how to have the title show up automatic. I ended editing the title by hand.

Test post #1

According to a hints box, I am able to post to Blogger from Google docs. I guess I'll have to see if it really works. I am hating the living shit out of the Blogger editor, but if I am able to post this to Blogger, then it is really awesome because not only it feels like a real word processor, but I (assume) that it will let me keep an archival copy in Google Docs. I have edited the document, I think I'll have to re-publish it.

Some hard, some easy

To offset how cumbersome it was to post a Picasa picture, moving pedrovera.com to point here was pretty much a freakin joke. All I had to do was to shut down web services in my Google Apps for Domains dashboard, then add the domain to this blog, flush my DNS cache and restart Firefox. The reason this was so easy is because the domain was already sitting in a Google DNS server (as a CNAME), so the change was internal to Google, otherwise it could have taken hours or even a day for it to kick in.

Exploring Blogger

I am trying to figure out if Blogger is now mature enough that I can finally wean myself out of my Wordpress addiction. The first thing I did not like is that while there is some level of integration between Blogger and Picasa, it was quite the pain in my ass to get it to accept a picture that was already part of one of my Picasa albums. Dumb. And that thumbnail is plain terrible! The editor is tiny! The editor in WP can be stretched, this one is a tiny box. Claustrophobic.
